Stretching endlessly across the northern plains of Tanzania, Serengeti National Park is one of Africa’s most iconic wildlife sanctuaries. Famous for its Great Wildebeest Migration, vast golden savannahs, and incredible year-round game viewing, Serengeti truly embodies the essence of an African safari. The park covers nearly 15,000 square kilometers, making it one of the largest and most diverse ecosystems on the continent.

Wildlife and Landscape

The Serengeti is home to an astonishing variety of wildlife — over 70 large mammal species and more than 500 bird species. It’s one of the best places on Earth to witness the “Big Five” — lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino — in their natural habitat.

Between December and July, millions of wildebeests, zebras, and gazelles thunder across the plains in search of greener pastures, followed closely by predators like lions and crocodiles. The rolling grasslands, acacia woodlands, and rocky kopjes create breathtaking backdrops for photography and game drives.
